Log Cottage near Novaraistis

Description:

A private and secluded cottage in the Novaraisčiai environment, a renovated old log house, surrounded by Kazlų Rūdos forests, near the Nova River, whose source begins nearby, in the Novaraisčiai bird sanctuary. The Novaraistis ornithological sanctuary is rich in birds, especially flocks of cranes in the autumn.

You can hear the cranes' cries in the estate, and you can simply watch flying flocks of cranes from the terrace, observe and listen to the songs of forest birds. If you are interested in ornithology, this is just the perfect place for bird watching.

The other close cottage is not rented, you will be private in the surroundings.

Cottage:

Staying in the estate, you will be surrounded by nature. Enjoy the beauty of the forest and meadows, listen to bird sounds, watch them, walk along forest paths, relax, and enjoy life!

The 60 sq. cottage breathes the spirit of antiquity - log walls, folk ornaments, antique furniture. On the ground floor, you will find a relaxation and kitchen area, and in the center, an ancient Suvalkija stove. This is not just a decoration, the food prepared on it is especially delicious, and the preparation itself provides new experiences. On cool evenings, it is simply nice to sit on a warm "zelikis" or armchair next to a crackling fire and enjoy warm herbal tea.

On the second floor (attic), there is a bedroom with a double bed and a shower room.

This estate blends the scent of flowering plants in the meadow and the forest. In the nearby meadows surrounded by forests, you can enjoy and share the abundance of medicinal herbs - you can pick your favorite herbs yourself or enjoy tea made from already gathered and prepared herbs.

The cottage has all the amenities - a shower, toilet, towels, and bed linen.

Cooking:

Inside, there is an electric stove, refrigerator, kettle, coffee maker, and dishes. You can also cook food in the old-fashioned stove (oven) or on top of it. There is a barbecue outside.

The nearest grocery store is 7 km away (Jankai).

The nearest cafe is 15 km away (Zapyškis).

Arrival route:

Both when arriving from Kuršėnai and from the Šiauliai side, you need to drive several kilometers on an unfriendly gravel road 😊. It is true that the approach from Kuršėnai is better. Approaching the cabin, you need to drive about 2 km along the forest road. We keep repairing it and it's really good in the dry season, but in any case it's a road through the forest (not asphalt..).
